A massive album in every sense from the Croydon rapper who has a great eye and ear for killer lines and great musical landscapes. Playing Dublin’s Workman’s Club next Thursday.

Sampha “Process” (Young Turks)

Long anticipated album from the dude who has worked with everyone from Beyonce to Drake highlights his own magnificent talents with songs like “(No One Knows Me) Like the Piano” (below)

Scene-setting exploration of European cosmic, ambient, new age, chill-out, prog and whatever-you’re-having-yourself sounds compiled by Douglas Mcgowan and featuring the likes of Vangelis, Hans-Joachim Roedelius, Popol Vuh, Ash Ra Tempel, Bernard Xolotl, Suzanne Doucet & Christian Buehner (“Shiva’s Dance” below) and many more.

A name for 2017, Surrey dude Alex O’Connor’s debut collection is full of bright tunes and introspective musings. One to watch for sure

Beautiful sampler from the Vancouver violin-and-loop pedal sonic weaver for her “Upsweep” album.

Sarah Neufeld “The Ridge” (SN Music)

More Canucks with violins. Solo album from the Arcade Fire violinist and composer comes full of inventive, engaging and shape-shifting textures. Playing Dublin’s Bello Bar next Thursday.
