What’s in store at Dublin’s Festival of Curiosity
Curious science, tech, arts and design stuff to see and do around the capital this month
Curiosity is a word which has bloomed in usage in recent times so it makes a lot of sense to attach it to a Dublin-wide festival happening later this month. Science, arts, design and technology are what are in the frame when the Festival Of Curiosity winds its way around the capital by day and night from July 21 to 24. The Playful Days; stuff is family-friendly, while Curious Nights is the more grown-up bill of fare.
Stuff in the programme which catches our eye includes Night Cycle/Moon Cycle cycle star-gazing bike trip from Temple Bar to Dunsink Observatory (July 21); Sven Anderson’s Continuous Drift sound installation (Meeting House Square, July 21-24); Dr Niamh Shaw’s Memory of Place app (download); Ivor Williams on how design and art can help us deal with death and dying (Science Gallery, July 22) and Soda.Bread.Box’s Dancing In the Dark installation (Filmbase, July 21-24).
