If you’re a fan of films like Escape From New York, Assault on Precinct 13, Christine and Halloween, this is for you. John Carpenter will be performing themes from his classic films and some brand new compositions when he visits Dublin’s Vicar Street on October 25. Tickets at €55 a pop (plus Ticketmaster taxes and charges) go on sale on Friday.

Drop Everything is a pretty damn sweet music and art happening which takes place every two years on Inis Oírr on the Aran Islands and the next one takes place from May 27 to 29. Amongst the acts on the line-up are Zebra Katz, Ménage à Trois, Mr Silla, photographers Maria Lax and Andrew Nuding, light artist Chris Lunney, architect Emmett McNamara, director Dave Tynan and many more. Audience numbers are limited to 300 places and you can pre-register for access and contribute what you can afford here.

It’s the return of Grandaddy! The band play Dublin’s Vicar Street on August 18 and tickets at €31.50 a go (plus Ticketmaster yokes) go on sale on Friday

One of the best acts I saw at Eurosonic in Groningen back in January was Dua Lipa and she plays Dublin’s Academy on October 5 next. Tickets now on sale at €22.90 a pop (plus Ticketmaster add-ons just because like).
