Every week, we highlight a couple of new acts from around the globe who’ve caught our attention. Please feel free to share tips below or check out all past New Music selections here.

Cosmo Sheldrake

We’ve the Spotify Discover Weekly algorithms to thank for tipping us off to London multi-intrumentalist and producer Cosmo Sheldrake and the lovely, sweet swing of “Rich”. He’s recorded a host of really cracking tunes since then as well as touring with Sylvan Esso and Johnny Flynn, flexing his TEDx muscles, running a community choir, teaching and running “nature awareness camps” in Europe and America. Catch him this weekend at the Reeperbahn Festival if you’re in Hamburg or next month at CMJ in New York.

Kick-ass London trio playing sounds which slip and slide between post-punk, funk, dub, indie and dream-pop like they’ve inhaled the best parts of one of the better record collections on the block. New release “The Guy With the Gammy Eye” for Speedy Wunderground is a bit of a wow, a track of high-grade distinction with a glide full of guile and gumption.

Ryan Egan

There are four tracks on the “Postures” EP from New Yorker Ryan Egan and they’re all keepers. Produced by Gianluca Buccellati (who has worked with Tei Sei, Yellerkin and others), EP tracks like “Restoration” and “Watercolour” are full of flavour, from the lovely understated background sounds to the hushed, attractive vocals. You’ll be hearing more about this troubadour in time.
