The latest New Music selections from On The Record, all of whom are playing Hard Working Class Heroes next week. Please feel free to share tips below or check out all past New Music selections here.

Jet Setter

Dublin four-piece playing smart, fuzzy guitar pop with cranked-up, powerful edges. The supersharpshooter “Not Yet” was given a release earlier this year by Any Other City, the capital city label with proven good ears in the shape of Villagers, Girl Band and others. Catch Jet Setter at HWCH when they come in to land with their refreshed guitars at Bad Bob’s on Saturday October 4 (9.20pm)

Originally from Limerick and now based in London, Sisters play buzzy indie rock with a real fresh slant to the tunes. Check out their “Hush Hush” debut single and prepare to hear more like this when they play the Button Factory on Thursday October 2 (9.20pm)

Derryman Laurence McDaid specialises in idiosyncratic songs and sounds with strong wonky melodies bured deep inside glitchy waves of lo-fi electro-blues. It’s his second year in a row at HWCH and he’s also gained a lot of attention at other star-time showcases like Other Voices and BBC Introducing. Catch GRIM at Bad Bob’s on Friday October 3 (8pm)
