It’s 25 years next month since Gene Clark passed away and the Young Hearts Run Free collective will be remembering the founder member of The Byrds with a special night at MVP, Clanbrassil Street, Dublin on May 24.

No Other: A Celebration of Gene Clark will feature live performances of his songs by Ross Hamer (Jetsetter), David Tapley (Tandem Felix), Anderson and Peter Smith (The Urges), plus a debut Irish set by Tony Poole of Starry Eyed And Laughing.

Author Johnny Rogan will read from “Requiem for the Timeless Volume 2″, his forthcomomg definitive biography of the careers of the solo Byrds. Unreleased and never-before-heard Clark tracks will be played and there will also be a screening of excerpts from the documentary film The Byrd Who Flew Alone.

Tickets are now on sale at €12 a pop and, as with all Young Hearts’ events, all proceeds will be donated to the Dublin Simon Community.
