New Music – Wallace, Camel Power Club, Callous Crows
New music hurrahs from Sydney, Bordeaux and Kildare
Every week, we highlight a couple of new acts from around the globe who’ve caught our attention. Please feel free to share tips below or check out all past New Music selections here.
One listen to “Negroni Eyes” and you’ll also want to know more about this singer. Originally from Wellington and now based in Sydney, Wallace Gollan’s future soul has already produced a couple of belters in 2015, but “Negroni Eyes” is a track with a large dollop of special sauce to go with that powerful, distinctive voice of hers.
Sometimes you’d don’t really need too much preamble before you get to the tunes. In the case of Camel Power Club, we have two friends from Bordeaux making sunnysideup jams that make you want to stick your feet in the sand as you gaze at a bluer-than-blue sky before paddling in an aquamarine ocean (yep, we’re not enjoying the lack of daylight in these parts at the moment). Check out tracks like “Fisher”, “Ourson” and “Drift” (below) for a taste of what’s instore at this club.
For fans of loud guitars and crunchy riffs, Kildare duo Neil Mc Donnell (guitar/vocals) and Eimhin Murphy (drums) may be just the ticket Tracks like “Palinoia” (below) show a duo fast getting to grips with just what they can produce with a wack of guitars, percussion and that bluesy holler of a voice.
