New Music – Foxtrott, Ryli, Dive In
New music for your consideration from Montreal, New York and Glastonbury
Every week, we highlight a couple of new acts from around the globe. Please feel free to share tips below or check out all past New Music selections here.
Montreal-based newbie Marie-Helene Delorme is already making a strong showing when it comes to striking synth lines and impulsive electronic washes which make a splash in your head. “Driven” is a hell of a tune and bodes well for her “A Taller Us” debut album due later this year.
Virginia native based in New York, Ryli has begun to turn heads with her take on next-level r’n'b and pop. Tracks like “Tell Me” are full of gorgeous, luxurious soundscapes while Ryli delivers the ethereal vocal endorphins on top. Lush pop with loads of ideas going on.
Glastonbury trio Dive In’s new tune “Eighteen” is a delight, a track which soars with serious intent and a cracking hook to power it on its way. Now signed to Vagrant and with an EP due next month, Dive In’s classy take on new-school rock and pop augers well if tunes like “Eighteen” keep coming. Probably will appear on a festival stage in their native town in the not too distant future.
