When it comes to jazz events in Ireland, the Bray Jazz Festival continues to be a robust player on the spring calendar. While the likes of the Cork Jazz Festival gets all the headlines and 12 Points does a great job in showcasing future European giants, the Co Wicklow festival has always followed an interesting groove over its 17 years.

The line-up for the festival’s upcoming run in the town over the May bank holiday weekend from April 29 to May 1 includes Kenny Werner, Dobet Gnahoré, Magnus Öström, Nils Økland & Sigbjørn Apeland, Ronan Guilfoyle (presenting a new work A Shy Going Boy to commemorates the role his late grandfather played in the 1916 Rising and War of Independence), Alex Mercado, Catriona McKay and Chris Stout, Chromb! and Vein with Greg Osby.

More details on dates, times, venues and tickets on the festival’s website
