Sanjeev Chada remanded in custody until October

A father charged with the murder of his two sons has been remanded in custody to appear in court next month.

Sanjeev Chada (43) from Ballinkillen, Bagenalstown, Co Carlow appeared before Harristown District Court in Co Roscommon this morning.

He is facing charges of murdering his sons, Eoghan (10) and Ruairi (5) at Skehanagh, Ballintubber, Co Mayo on July 29th last.

He did not speak during the brief appearance at the court, which is located beside Castlerea Prison.

Judge Geoffrey Browne remanded Chada in custody to appear before Harristown District Court on October 11th.
