Gardaí have lifted a cordon in an area in Dublin 9 that was put in place due to the presence of a “suspicious device”.
A spokesman for the force said reports had been received of a suspicious device in the Whitehall area on Tuesday evening.
A cordon had been established and the army explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) unit attended the scene.
However, upon further examination by the army EOD Unit, the device was discovered to be “non-viable”, meaning it was not something that would explode.
