In the world of science fiction, we would all understand world languages through futuristic technology that enables real-time translation. In real life, we haven’t quite hit that point just yet. The WT2 ($129) is a Kickstarter project that attempts to kick this a little closer to reality. It’s a set of earphone translators and an app that enables you to converse with someone in a foreign language – and it’s translated in real time. The trick? Each person wears one earphone, and as you speak in your language, it’s translated into theirs. The app does all the work. It means both people have to wear the ear phones, but it will help bridge a language gap or two.
