Looking forward to a holiday . . . fancy a break? A recent missive to the Margin offers one option - a three-day pilgrimage to Lough Derg. No kidding.
The retreat organisers have initiated a marketing blitz targeting busy executives and the capital's hassled commuters. With the slogan "Time out for body and soul".
In this wired world, one of the most attractive features of the break from the Margin's point of view is the absence of telephones, even mobiles from the island.
Not that those running the pilgrimage are totally against technology. The campaign will feature mousemats delivered to 150 top business leaders, an invitation to visit the Lough Derg website at www.loughderg.org and advertisements on the DART.
Above all else though, the most impressive feature of the invitation was the news that it would take only two hours and 45 minutes to reach from Dublin. Would that be by celestial transport?
