Speaking to The Irish Times, Ronan Barrett, the director of the company behind the scheme, said: “We see it as a good location for family homes that will suit those who either want to work in Maynooth or work in Dublin.

“It’s a good commuter town in the sense that Irish Rail have plans to increase the frequency of trains into Dublin,” he said.

While Mr Barrett acknowledged that there is still work to be done before construction begins, he said it is expected that the first phase will be completed in the next 12 to 18 months.

It is unclear what price the properties will be marketed at, however, they are being pitched at families.
