Florida - The comedian Ernie Wise was last night "critical but stable" after undergoing a triple heart by-pass operation in a hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, said his wife, Doreen.
The entertainer was semiconscious and able to open his eyes and squeeze her hand as she waited by his bedside, she added. Doctors now gave him a 50-50 chance of survival, his wife added.
