Two men appeared at Cookstown Magistrates court in Co Tyrone yesterday on charges of possessing ecstasy tablets with a street value of about £1 million.

Mr Alan Shepherd (40), a farmer, Ballybeg Road, Coalisland, and Mr Lawrence Flood (53) retired, of Holtdale Way, Cookridge, Leeds, were remanded in custody for a week. Both deny the charges and will apply for bail.
