Rugby:Uncapped quartet Joe Marler, Brad Barritt, Tom Wood and Dan Ward-Smith have been called into the England squad as injury cover ahead of the autumn internationals.

Prop David Wilson, lock Simon Shaw, centre Riki Flutey and flanker Henrie Fourie all sustained injuries over the weekend and England manager Martin Johnson acted quickly to add the replacements ahead of the opening Twickenham international against New Zealand on November 6th.

Harlequins prop Marler, 20, a former England under-18 captain, has impressed in his few games for the London club while Saracens centre Barritt is hoping to become England's latest South African convert.

With England captain Lewis Moody still not certain to be fit after suffering an eye injury, Northampton's Wood offers back row cover and, like Ward-Smith, is promoted from the Saxons squad.
