Xbox takes another shot at getting rid of discs

Xbox One S doesn’t have a disc drive so all games have to be downloaded to a built in hard drive

€230
Remember when Microsoft originally launched the Xbox One? The plan was to tie games to a user's Xbox Live account, making the discs unnecessary after the initial installation, but also killing off the trade in used games. There was outrage and the plan was dropped.

Now Microsoft is having another shot at it, with an all digital Xbox One S. There isn't a disc drive, so you'll have to download all your games to a one terabyte hard drive that's built into the console. That has pros and cons, but the price tag will be a factor in swaying people - €230 is about €70 cheaper than the standard console.
