Wallace to sit out Leinster match

Magners League team news: Paddy Wallace has been rested for Saturday’s top of the table meeting of Ulster and Leinster

Magners League team news:Paddy Wallace has been rested for Saturday's top of the table meeting of Ulster and Leinster. Coach Brian McLaughlin has omitted the Ireland international from his 25-man squad for the visit of the Magners League leaders.

Johnny Shiels comes into the squad in Wallace’s stead although Ian Whitten is the likely starter alongside Darren Cave in the Ulster midfield.

Elsewhere, McLaughlin has selected the same personnel that were beaten in Edinburgh last weekend with no changes among the forwards.

“Obviously last weekend was a massive disappointment for us, but we’re not going to dwell on it,” said hooker Andy Kyriacou today. “The only game that matters now is Leinster, at Ravenhill, on Saturday.

“It’s first versus second and everyone is really excited about it. I think that goes for the supporters as well. Ravenhill was really kicking in terms of atmosphere for the Bath game and I’d expect it to be the same at the weekend.”

Connacht welcome back forwards Ray Ofisa and Robbie Morris for their trip to Glasgow.

Prop Morris returns after serving a suspension for striking while flanker Ofisa has recovered from injury.
