Calf strain a concern for Leinster’s Rhys Ruddock

Backrow and hooker Dundon will be monitored this week, Fitzgerald and Cullen expected back

A calf strain prevented Rhys Ruddock from training with Leinster today but it is hoped he will be fit to face Castres in the Heineken Cup on Sunday.

The backrow will be monitored this week, as will Hooker Aaron Dundon, who took a blow to his shoulder after replacing Seán Cronin in the narrow win over Connacht on Saturday.

Ruddock will be the primary concern for coach Matt O’Connor, with Seán O’Brien already sidelined.

Versatile Ireland back Luke Fitzgerald was back in training at UCD this morning after being afforded the weekend off to shake the flu, while lock Leo Cullen, who was also allowed some down time, will be back in the shake-up to face the French.
