Tobermore Golf Driving Range will again be the venue for this year's Target Golf League. This popular event, now in its fourth year, has quickly become an important fixture on the calendar in Mid-Ulster. Last year's tournament was enjoyed by over 120 competitors, and early indications are that even more will take part this year.
The tournament is played on a league basis, with teams competing over 10 weeks. Target Golf, with its unique format, offers competitors, of all abilities, the chance to play for prizes valued at £1,000, while getting in some invaluable practice with the short irons.
With targets set at 50 and 100 yards, the onus is put on accuracy, and, with so many courses closed in the winter months due to the inclement weather, Target Golf is an ideal preparation for the season ahead. The 1999 Target Golf League is scheduled to begin on February 1st. So, with a limited entry, teams are advised to post their entry as soon as possible.
