HURLING CHALLENGE/Galway 4-9 Wexford 1-6: Interest focused on the Kerins' brothers comeback and it proved to be a fairytale for Alan as he contributed a goal and a point inside the first eight minutes at Wexford Park on Saturday.

After 11 minutes Galway led by 3-3 to 0-1, the goals coming from Eugene Cloonan, Alan Kerins and Kevin Broderick which set Galway up for a 3-4 to 0-8 interval lead. Wexford's Larry O'Gorman levelled the scores at 1-12 to 3-6 after 50 minutes with a goal. Wexford led 1-16 to 4-6 with seven minutes remaining but it was Galway who finished stronger.
