DLSP 14; Galwegians 45:DLSP'S three-season reign as a first division club came to an abrupt end at on Saturday as an impressive Galwegians outclassed them at Kilternan.
Although the Dubliner's fate was expected to be revealed after the result of the Carlow/Ballymena game, it was apparent by the time Eric Elwood weaved through the defence in the 53rd minute to put the score at 31-7 to the westerners.
Elwood epitomised the gulf in class between the side, the former international scored 25 points with two tries and a 100 per cent success rate with kicks at goal.
It was a disappointing end to the season for the Dubliners.
