Racing:Hot favourite Raphael Santi had to make do with minor honours in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden at Leopardstown as Jim Bolger's Parish Hall claimed a notable victory.

The 4-1 chance was the first runner for sire Teofilo, who was forced to retire unbeaten five years ago. Requinto cut out much of the running in this six-furlong contest, but Parish Hall quickened up to claim him inside the final furlong under Kevin Manning.

Aidan O’Brien’s Raphael Santi also found his stride late on for Ryan Moore, but Parish Hall held him off for a three-quarters of a length success.

“Parish Hall is the first runner for his sire Teofilo and is a nice horse with a future,” said the winning trainer. “He is a great mover and will step up to seven furlongs soon.”
