Gaelic Games:Pat Gilroy will stay on as Dublin manager for one more year in a bid to claim back-to-back All-Ireland crowns after leading the side to their first title victory in 16 years against Kerry in September.

The 40-year-old St Vincent’s club man originally signed a three-year deal that finished after the All-Ireland final, but has decided to stay on for another 12 months.

A brief statement issued by the Dublin county board following tonight’s meeting in Parnell Park read:

“The Dublin County Committee reappointed Pat Gilroy as manager of the Dublin senior football team for the 2012 season. Pat will finalise his management team when activity resumes in January.”
