CAPE CANAVERAL - Relatives, friends and fellow astronauts gathered at a memorial service yesterday to mark the 10th anniversary of the tragic journey into oblivion of the space shuttle, Challenger.

Around 400 sombre guests at the Kennedy Space Centre stood for 73 seconds of silence, marking the duration of the final flight of Challenger and its seven person crew on January 28th, 1986.
