Olympics: Joanne Cuddihy became the latest Irish athlete to qualify for the London 2012 last night, with a 400m win at the Shizuoka International Track and Field Meet in Japan.

The Kilkenny woman is the 17th Irish track athlete to book a place at the Olympics.

In wet conditions, she posted a time of 51.45 seconds and hopes to improve on that when she competes at the Golden Grand Prix in Kawasaki on Sunday.
