New law and mediation centre to open in Limerick

Service will provide free legal information and advice

A law and mediation centre will be launched this week in Limerick.

The centre will provide free legal information, advice, advocacy and representation services to families and individuals living in
regeneration communities and other economically disadvantaged areas of the city.

Minister for Housing and Limerick TD Jan O’Sullivan, who will launch the service, said it was much-needed in Limerick.

“It is a historic development for Limerick as it is the first law centre of its kind to be established outside of Dublin,” she said.

The centre will also provide a dispute resolution service and will work to empower
the community through education, research and campaigns.
