Man found with 22,000 cigarettes remanded in custody

Contraband worth €11,400 found in luggage at Dublin Airport

A man was stopped by customs at Dublin Airport with a suitcase full of cigarettes worth €11,400 on Thursday.

He was arrested and brought before Judge Grainne O’Neill, where he was remanded in custody.

The 45-year-old Lithuanian had been travelling from Sweden and was found with 22,000 Marlboro Gold cigarettes.

He is due to appear in Dublin District Court again on Tuesday.
