Clanwilliam unveils new app to streamline GP practices

Global healthcare technology company Clanwilliam has unveiled a new app to help manage interactions between patients and GPs, as part of a €700,000 investment in the technology.

Clanwilliam plans to double this investment in coming year to support the continued roll out and development of Pippo.

The development of the app came in response to rising demand from GP practices to find ways to enhance productivity and increase efficiency to meet growing demands on their services. Designed to streamline interactions, saving GP practices an average of 40 administrative hours every month, the app simplifies the management of repeat prescription requests, appointment bookings, and other patient requests.

The full roll-out comes following a pilot phase of the app, which saw almost 200 GP practices use the app’s ability to manage bookings. The online repeat prescriptions functionality is now live, and is expected to save practices 15 to 30 minutes per prescription while also freeing up clinical capacity.

It is also fully interoperable with existing GP practice management systems, such as Socrates and Helix Practice Manager.

Clanwilliam Group which offers technology and services to a global customer base, has grown since the pandemic as the healthcare system has become increasingly digitised.

Clanwilliam started out developing and supplying practice-management software to Irish GPs and consultants, and now provides a range of electronic health technology, including software to nursing homes to manage aged care and medications, software to manage theatres and outpatient departments, speech recognition for clinical correspondence, GP management software and virtual clinics. It primarily operates in Ireland, the UK, New Zealand and Australia.
