Soccer:Stoke have appealed against the red card Rory Delap received for a tackle on Danid Hunt during yesterday's FA Cup win over Crawley.
The Republic of Ireland midfielder was dismissed in the first half for a sliding challenge on Hunt, though his team-mates were still able to record a 2-0 win over the League Two side.
Potters boss Tony Pulis was visibly frustrated by the red card and the club have quickly decided to appeal in the hope of overturning the three-match ban.
A statement on the club’s official website, read: “After studying television replays of the incident, City have now notified the Football Association that they will be appealing against the dismissal.
“The club now have 24 hours to present their evidence to the FA in the hope that the midfielder’s three-match suspension will be overturned.”
