Magners League team news: Shane Jennings's appeal against his 12-week suspension will be heard in Dublin tomorrow morning after the Leinster flanker challenged the ban meted out by the ERC this morning.

The Ireland international will make his case to an Appeal Committee will be chaired by Christopher Quinlan (England), who will be assisted by Rod McKenzie (Scotland) and Jean-Noel Couraud (France).

Jennings was banned after being found guilty of making contact with the eye/eye area of London Irish lock Nick Kennedy in the champions’ opening European Cup defeat at the RDS on October 9th.

The independent judicial officer determined the offence to be at the low-end in the level of seriousness and the ban length reflects that.

Jennings and Leinster, however, were at a loss to understand how the ruling was reached given the absence of video evidence and the admission of Kennedy after the match that his reaction to the first half incident was over the top.

Just in case, Michael Cheika has included Jennings in the squad ahead of Saturday’s top of the table meeting with Ulster at Ravenhill.

CJ van der Linde, who made his first appearance since January against Brive, is named in a strong selection for the match at Ravenhill.
