Four medals for Irish paracyclers in South California

The successful Irish campaign at the paracycling world road championships in Greenville, South Carolina, ended yesterday with a haul of four medals.

Mark Rohan brought things to a conclusion with a fourth-place finish in the H2 road race, nearly repeating the bronze medal he took in the H2 time trial.

Top results from the team came from the efforts of Eoghan Clifford, who picked up superb gold medals in the C3 road race and time trial.

Katie-George Dunlevy and Eve McCrystal also took silver in the women’s B tandem road race on Sunday.

"To get four medals at the worlds is brilliant," said team coach Neill Delahaye. "It's particularly special to get it on the road, where there are so many uncontrollables, like punctures and mechanicals.

“It means when it all comes together like this and you get results like this, you get a real pleasure out of it.”
