Sir, – As we approach the budget there is continuing reference in the media to the economy. This is a grave error. There are many economies within our nation. There is the economy of the elderly, such as myself, who exist on set pensions. There is the economy of the well-off, who live in A-rated houses and drive huge SUVs.
Then there is the economy of young people who continue to live with their parents because they cannot get mortgages, as well as those who have no option but to pay exorbitant rents. I could go on, but I hope the budget will address not just the economy in general, but the various sub-economies within our nation. – Yours, etc,
