Confusing airport announcements are a source of turbulence for passengers

Pronouncements on destinations hard to understand

The Irish Times - Letters to the Editor.

Sir, – The letter from David Pike (August 6th) about garbled and incoherent PA announcements at Connolly Station reminds me of the current situation at Dublin Airport, where passengers routinely find themselves standing on stairs for extended periods listening to a succession of boarding announcements for destinations that not even the announcers appear capable of pronouncing.

A little less public address might result in a lot more public understanding. – Yours, etc
