Why Arsenal’s time-wasting tactics make a 30-year season ticket wait look absurd

If spectators are losing years of their lives to time-wasting, why wait decades to watch it?

The Irish Times - Letters to the Editor.

Sir, – Ken Early has done us all a service by calculating the universal waste of time which resulted from Arsenal’s delay in taking just one of their throw-ins in the Champions League final (“If Arsenal are unpopular with neutrals, it’s because they waste everyone’s time”, Sport, June 1st).

In the same edition, Oliver Sears informs us that there is a 30-year waiting list for an Arsenal season ticket (Letters, June 1st).

By Ken Early’s calculation, the worldwide viewing population lost a combined 190 years of precious human life waiting for Cristhian Mosquera to take his throw-in.

Why on earth would you want to wait 30 years to watch time-wasting? – Yours, etc,
