Sir, – Stephen Collins need not worry about the prospect that “Electing ‘characters’ as MEPs could do Ireland real harm” (Opinion & Analysis, April 19th).
The reason for this is simple. We will not be alone.
It will also be a sign that we have finally become a serious country that is not dependent on some obsequious approval from our “betters”.
There is now barely a major country in the West that is not suffering from a severe crisis in leadership.
