Sir, – As an interim deterrent, might the Minister for Transport consider introducing a congestion charge on the drone operators at Dublin Airport? – Yours, etc,

Sir, – Last September on the Leeson Street end of Clyde Road in Ballsbridge in Dublin, an approved drone operator was trying to capture some aerial footage for a video I had commissioned.
He tried to operate the drone but it would not fly more than five or six feet from the ground.
He then got a text message to say he was trying to operate a drone in a restricted zone.
They cited the Aviva Stadium and American embassy as the restricted buildings.
Perhaps Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan or someone in his department could make contact with the Aviva or the embassy to find out how they can do it.
Or would the Department of Arts, Heritage, the Gaeltacht and Sports and the Department of Foreign Affairs have to get involved! – Yours, etc,
MICHAEL P PURCELL,

Sir, – Down with drones! – Yours, etc,
FRANK O’CONNOR,
Blackrock,
Co Dublin.
