THE SOCIAL NETWORK:Jordan Edmonds-Moore, from Crecora, Co Limerick, was almost lost for words on Wednesday evening at Brown Thomas in Dublin, when Strictly Come Dancing's Bruno Tonioli announced him as the winner of the Irish final of the Triumph Inspiration Awards.

Edmonds-Moore will represent Ireland in the lingerie-design competition in Shanghai this October. “I can’t believe I’m going to Shanghai,” he told me. “I have two uncles married to Chinese women.”

Tonioli, who was staying at the Fitzwilliam Hotel, was looking forward to having a steak at Shanahan’s on the Green. “I was in the O2 earlier this year and filmed Ella Enchanted here some years ago with Anne Hathaway and Joanna Lumley,” he said. He was the choreographer on set.

The MD of Triumph in the UK and Ireland, Noreen Gallagher, presented Edmonds-Moore with his prize. She commutes to London from Monaghan every week. The Xposé presenter Karen Koster acted as MC on the evening.
