MEN'S HOCKEY:Ireland have named squads for their double-header against Argentina this week. High performance director Dave Passmore is presiding over selection until a new senior men's coach is named, and he is taking the opportunity to look at some younger players.
Passmore welcomes back the Pembroke Wanderers duo of Ronan Gormley and Tim Lewis, with Cork Harlequins' Mark Black back in the fold after a seven month break. Players from Three Rock Rovers were not selected as they continue to prepare for the Euro Hockey League which takes place this coming Friday and Saturday.
Commenting on his squad Passmore said: "This is a great opportunity for some of the younger players to come in and compete against a top side such as Argentina.
"These games will be tough, fast-paced and the Argentinean's will be out to settle a score after Ireland defeated them in the Olympic Qualifiers earlier this year."
Ireland take on Argentina at Belfield tomorrow night at 7.30pm, with the second game taking place at Pembroke Wanderers at noon on Thursday.
