GAA:Tyrone manager Mickey Harte expects Stephen O'Neill to be out of action for up to eight weeks after he dislocated his elbow against Donegal in Saturday's McKenna Cup final.

The forward will miss the majority of Tyrone’s NFL campaign, possibly returning for games against Kerry on March 27th and Dublin on April 11th.

Harte insists the injury will be treated with caution: "It'd be great if he was back by then (Kerry) but we'll wait for the medical people to tell us - if we can have him back for any of the league that'd be brilliant."

O’Neill will have an MRI scan later this week to make sure there are no fractures.

There was better news with regards full back Justin McMahon, who was concussed in the game at Brewster Park. He is expected to be available for next Saturday's league opener against Derry.
