Racing: Apprentice David Moran replaced the injured Kevin Manning to land a 37-1double for trainer Jim Bolger at the Curragh this evening.

The 5lb claimer deputised on Senora Galilei (6-1) and Heliostatic (9-2) after Manning was hurt when Slaney Time crashed through the rails in the opening Centra Good Food To Go EBF Maiden.

Manning was taken to Naas hospital for X-rays and has been stood down for seven days.

Irish Turf Club medical officer Dr Walter Halley said: "He's concerned about his shoulder and he has a laceration at the top of his nose. He was taken to Naas hospital to have his shoulder, neck and face X-rayed."

After steering home Senora Galilei in the Centra Summer Eating Convenience Handicap, Moran took the feature Peter Keatley Curragh Groundcare Silver Stakes on Heliostatic.

The Irish 2000 Guineas sixth opened his account for the season when beating Cougar Bay a length in the Listed contest over a mile and a quarter to book his place in the Budweiser Irish Derby.

"He'll line up for the Derby on the big day," Bolger said. "Things went a little bit wrong at Leopardstown in the Derrinstown. We don't really know the reason for it so we decided we would ignore the run and carry on.

"The only reason he lined up in the Guineas was because he disappointed in the Derrinstown and we wanted to get him back on track. We felt the trip would probably be a little short and also the ground was against him. He still ran a good race and we were happy with him."
