Police in Spain have arrested a man who is wanted by gardai over alleged child abuse in Ireland.

Police in Spain have arrested a man connected with the Provisional IRAwho is wanted by gardai over alleged child abuse in Ireland.

The extradition warrant for the man was issued earlier this year on January 8th.

The man was detained by officers in Alicante on the Costa Blanca. The allegations relate to indecent assaults on a minor in the 1990s

A spokesman for Spain’s National Police confirmed the arrest.
