A man in his 30s was arrested in west Dublin today in connection with the discovery of cannabis resin with an estimated street value of €570,000.

The drugs were seized during a raid of a house in the Cherry Orchard area this morning.

The man was arrested at the scene and is being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Ballyfermot Garda Station. He can be held for up to seven days.

A Garda spokesman said the investigation is ongoing.
