Cannabis worth €490,000 seized in raids

Gardaí in Leitrim have made two seizures of cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €490,000.

Members of the divisional drugs unit attached to Carrick-on-Shannon searched two premises yesterday.

A house in Kilclare in Carrick-on-Shannon was searched and plants with an estimated street value of €240,000 were seized. A 44-year-old man was arrested and taken to Manorhamilton Garda station for questioning.

A premises in Aughamore was also searched. Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €250,000 were seized, gardaí said.

A 41-year-old man was arrested and was held for questioning at Carrick-on-Shannon Garda station.
