There’s always been space in hip-hop for the dreamers and seers. The 2012 debut from Seattle duo Catherine Harris-White and Stasia Irons saw their incantations on black music and lives come wrapped in a rich rub of sounds and influences, from old-school hip-hop and r’n’b to jazz and soul.

Here, they go deeper into these themes, adding layers of dense, futuristic experimental sound. As before (and as with fellow Seattle time-travellers Shabazz Palaces, who contribute to the album), the bass is a thing of wonder, with the ability to mesmerise and hypnotise.

These sounds provide Harris-White and Irons with the setting for rhymes which deconstruct everything from the mainstream takeover of black culture (Blandland) to environmental concerns (No GMO). Satisfaction guaranteed.
