There's a mesmeric momentum at the heart of Factory Floor's debut album. Whatever about the lengthy gestation period, it's obvious that the span and intensity of its contours, twists and tensions have been dramatically improved over time, as the London trio reworked and redrafted their blueprint. As the album progresses and gains in heft, it locks into a groove which just drives on and on and on, as if the machines had taken over the controls. Factory Floor hook and hypnotise the listener by turning industrial, disco and electronic forms into new, alluring, alien shapes.
