Libeskind theatre for Dublin docklands

Work on Grand Canal Square in Dublin's south docklands is to begin soon and is likely to be completed by 2007

Work on Grand Canal Square in Dublin's south docklands is to begin soon and is likely to be completed by 2007. The landmark city area will have a value of €475 million.

The Devey Group and Ryde Developments is to develop the performing arts centre, illustrated above, that has been designed by internationally renowned architect Daniel Libeskind. The centre will have a seating capacity for 2,000 people and the theatre will be integrated into a large retail and commercial development. The plan envisages the creation of a new indoor street - a galleria- running from north to south and will contain village centre-type outlets. Above the galleria will be office suites.
