Heineken Cup Tickets:Ticketmaster will re-issue Heineken cup semi-final tickets sold to Leinster and Munster fans who exceeded the allocation given to them by their respective provinces. Both provinces received approximately 30,000 tickets each and made an allocation available through the Ticketmaster website on Monday morning.

Season ticket holders receive priority but the problem arose when a coding error allowed fans of both provinces to log-on and buy further tickets after purchasing their original allocation.

Leinster fans were permitted an allocation of six tickets each, while their Munster counterparts were allowed just one for the game at Croke Park on May 2nd.

Fans from both provinces, however, exceeded the allocation, meaning other season-ticket holders were denied their tickets.

In a statement released today, the Leinster branch said: “Ticketmaster, as instructed by Leinster Rugby, removed the sale of Heineken Cup semi-final tickets on Tuesday afternoon due to the fact that 266 applicants misused their access codes and exceeded the limit.

“As a result of this order duplication, Ticketmaster has cancelled all of the tickets purchased by these 266 applicants. Ticketmaster will now re-issue codes to the remaining Leinster season ticket holders who do not have a ticket.

“Printed tickets from the “Ticket Fast” facility are NOT VALID for this game and supporters will not be able to gain entry into Croke Park with them on the day. Physical match tickets will be posted to all successful applicants.”

There were not as many Munster tickets available through the agent, with the majority having gone to clubs and other pre-determined recipients, but the province has confirmed some fans did exceed their allocation.

The re-issuing of tickets, which will take place on Monday from 12 noon, only applies to those who bought more than they were entitled to.

Demand for the game has been enormous and it took just 30 seconds for the 5,000 tickets on general sale to sell out when made available at 6pm last Sunday.
