Flanker Collins bound for Toulon

Former New Zealand captain Jerry Collins is set to join Toulon on a three-year contract.

Collins had been linked with a move to European champions Munster but confirmation of his decision to move to France came this morning on the club's website, www.rctoulon.com.

Last month flanker Collins became the latest in a series of high-profile players to quit the All Blacks, who were defeated by France in last year's World Cup quarter-finals.

Toulon, who have just won promotion to France's top flight, are managed by Tana Umaga, also a former All Blacks captain.

The 27-year-old Collins made his debut for New Zealand in 2001 and played a majority of his 48 tests at blindside flanker.

He captained the team three times and scored five test tries.
